Feeling Human is a charity team that was made in the summer of 2009 by two young girls with the experience in social work and in the fashion industry.
Founders of the non-profit organization, Heather Nomi Tshuma and Yvonne Ivana Bosnjak decided to raise awareness through creative events on critical issues of our time, such as eating disorders, discriminations, depression and use of substances, under the guidance of Andreas Stigas, who is currently the president of the association.
The team is presently living and working in Athens. Their personalities and different cultures are a great inspiration to show that people can overcome cultural barriers especially under the common aim to help others and take them as they are. The team consists of doctors, nurses, teachers, engineers, social workers, models, designers and photographers. This organization is open to volunteers be they are black, white, gay, lesbian, straight, fast, slow, one two to many or one limb less... no matter what. Anyone can part of the Feeling Human team at anytime….
THE MISSION: To work as advocates supporting voluntary non governmental organizations and individuals involved in serving the most disadvantaged, impoverished, illiterate, disabled, orphan, poor and needy people creatively. The team supports charitable activities in four primary areas: arts, culture, education, health and awareness.
THE VALUES: The Feeling Human team works on their projects with all their hearts and energy. This proved to them that when helping others it also fulfills ones personal needs. “We love what we do, but equally important to us is how we do things, we work as a team to get the job done.”
THE VISION: Mutual respect, recognizing the natural dignity and worth of all people and value of diversity. Empathy and compassion, requires working to ensure that everyone – irrespective of sex, age, race, colour, class and religion – has equal opportunity for expressing and utilizing their potential. Honesty and Transparency, requires being accountable for the effectiveness of the Feeling Human’s actions. Courage of conviction, require being creative and radical, without fear of failure, in pursuit of the highest possible impact.
